Yesterday marked a significant milestone for Bury's care sector as we hosted our very first Bury Care Academy Digital Skills Event at The Polish Centre. Care providers from across the borough came together to build digital confidence, learn practical skills and connect with partners leading the way in care technology.
The energy in the room was electric as managers, care workers and business owners explored everything from staying safe online to using AI tools that can cut down on admin time. This wasn't just a training day – it was a chance for providers to learn, network and see first-hand how digital tools and technology can transform their services.
And we were blown away by the turnout.

For many care providers, digital can feel overwhelming. There's pressure to keep up with new technology, but not always the time or support to figure out where to start.
That's exactly why we hosted this event.
The Digital Skills Event was about cutting through the noise and showing providers that digital doesn't have to be complicated. From AI tools already built into software they're paying for, to simple steps that can protect their teams from online scams – the day was packed with practical, actionable insights that providers can take back to their services straight away.
It was also a chance to see technology in action. The exhibition stalls gave providers the opportunity to speak directly with companies like Care Control, Med E HealthCare and Sensio, ask questions, and explore how digital solutions could work for their setting.
Because at the end of the day, technology should make care easier – not harder. And events like this help providers see what's possible.
The success of the Digital Skills Event wouldn't have been possible without our exceptional partners.
